Freezing lakes and pin drop silence everywhere like the eternal silence of Nirvana and the perfect stillness all around; yup the place is Leh. It is the high-desert city in the Himalayas located towards the eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir, at an altitude of 3505 meters above sea level. Place is surrounded and bisected by some of the highest mountain ranges in the world. It is hard not to be taken in by the magic of Leh. 
The biggest magnetism for travelers coming to Leh is the Tibetan- Buddhist Monasteries and historical monuments. As to approach to the southeast direction of Leh, there is the Thiksey monastery where one can enjoy stunning sunset eyeshot. The oldest monastery in Ladakh is the Hemis monastery which is the traveler’s paradise in its own. We recommend travelers to devote at least one trip to Leh solely to its monasteries and Buddhist monuments. Besides, the most impressive of all is the famous Shanti Stupa, 800 years old Kali Temple and traditional Tibetan style 17th century Leh Palace, which offers astonishing sight of the nature’s magic.
